biography
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, the first of three boys born to his father, a computer professional, and his mother, a tax preparer, Jeremy's family never really took root in one place. From living on an Arabian horse farm on the free open plains of the Midwest to living in a tiny one-bedroom apartment in suburban Dallas, Jeremy saw many places he would call home in his youth. For a time, his family even lived on a one-mile long island on the edge of the Pacific Ocean's International Date Line, where for fun he and his brothers would snorkel and dive the beautiful coral reefs.

Through all the homes he lived in and the many schools he attended, Jeremy became a voracious reader; finding refuge in the pages of such fictions as comic books, paperback adventure novels, and the classics of such authors as Stevenson, Dickens, Poe, and Verne. It was in these pages Jeremy would find his passion for stories. Soon he would take to writing his own stories and it was the notion of actually getting to be in these exciting tales that would ultimately have him writing plays and acting in them. Casting his two younger brothers and whatever unsuspecting neighborhood kid he could find, in adolescent Orson Wells fashion Jeremy would turn out play after play. But it was only fun... He hadn't realized this would one day be his career.

By the time Jeremy graduated high school he had seen nearly every state in the United States save Alaska. An exceptional student, Jeremy earned his diploma simultaenously with his two-year college degree while in Florida. With a full scholarship to any Florida state college he dabbled in various majors and studied drama, while finding odds-and-ends acting jobs in theme parks and stunt work.

It was during this time he found his singing voice. Music had always been a part of his life, but he had never really thought of it as being part of his career. He grew up with his father singing and playing the guitar as well as his grandmother, who was a professional singer. He never really knew he could sing until one day he was given a singing line in a musical at school. It turned out Jeremy had quite a voice, though it might take him a while to find out just how to use it.

But it was his acceptance into Ann Reinking's Broadway Theatre Project that would forever change his future. At the project Jeremy would find encouragement and a belief in him from such great artists as Ben Vereen, Austin Pendleton, and Ann Reinking herself. It was under their encouragement that Jeremy was inspired to "stop playing small" and to let his "light shine." It was also here that he had the fortune of working with such great singing teachers as Joan Lader, Mary Walkley, and Leigh McRae. But most important was his chance to work with the great voice teacher Adrienne Angel. It was under her tutelage and mentorship that Jeremy would finally find the voice he needed to bring with him when acting on stage.

The momentum of the Broadway Theatre Project swept him up and he soon found himself working in New York as an assistant to the casting director and accomplished performer, Dave Clemmons. While in casting Jeremy had the fortune to work on Brooklyn, Boy From Oz, Cats, The Prince and the Pauper, and Frank Wildhorn's Dracula. Continuing to study with Adrienne Angel and working in nearly every position the theater world had to offer, Jeremy's greatest education would take hold: real world experience. From casting to spotlight operator to marketing to box office to directing to usher to writing to stagehand to producing, at one time or another Jeremy has worked at every level and position found in the theater. But it was only when he was acting that he finally found the home he had been looking for.

By age twenty-one, Jeremy had played a part in over fifty theater productions. His credits range from Shakespearean works such as Two Gentleman of Verona and Julius Caesar to contemporary classics such as Marvin's Room and Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers to musicals like Phantom and Miss Saigon. Beyond the stage, Jeremy can soon be seen on screen! He is currently collaborating with funny guy Mike Collela on the comedic short film, Under the Mat.

With all that being said, it seems this biography has only just begun. Jeremy Michael still has a vast future in store for him and there are surely exciting things on the horizon for this bright and talented young artist!
